This is it. We’ve reached the end of our journey together.
You are no longer an NPC. Even if you leave this book behind and decide to go on operating like one, you can never be an NPC again. You will be a PC who chooses to live at Level 0, among NPCs—which is, of course, is just as respectable as the decision to reach for the heights of the vibe ladder and beyond.
No matter what your decision is (and you don’t need to make it right now), the only thing left to do is to practice. Put the techniques you’ve learned to the test. Challenge the NPCs around you to break free from their molds. Be the model of good conversational behavior that the world so desperately needs right now.
The world is in crisis.
It’s not a good sign that 99% of us are operating as NPCs. It means that someone else, likely the person who gave you the NPC script to begin with, is controlling things. They are using the dark arts of conversation to manipulate you into submission, to make you feel like the NPC life is the only one that is possible for “someone like you.”
I’m here to remind you that there is no such thing as “someone like you.”
Your abilities are unlimited.
You are capable of transcendence.
You are capable of breaking out of the NPC mold, reaching Level 1 in your interactions with all who cross your path, and reaching Level 5 after developing your skills.
We are all counting on you. I more than anyone.
You are no longer a non-player character.
You are a player character.
