This play-through of Pokémon XD combined with the listening to wretched of the earth is actually game-changing (pun intended). Like… it really is, in real time, changing the way I move through the world. I go outside to take K▒▒▒ for a walk, and I see migrant workers meticulously painting the outside of a mcmansion, suspended in air, on their knees, in silence. It’s a strange thing to see. There is no actual violence being used against them, but surely the threat is there. The threat of violence as conveyed by the poverty that will come upon them if they don’t build these ridiculous houses. They’re building these things for no one’s benefit but the new bourgeoisie. They hope to get a piece of the native bourgeois pie, but they’ll likely never get it. Especially if Trump gets in office and deports them. It’s a weird thing to have in your backyard. There’s no way to see that without getting radicalized and seeing Fanon in it all.
It makes me feel so much more present, with so much more clarity of focus. I know what I’m here to do.
