Consumption itself is a necessary condition for life. How are you gonna make it so there’s an ethical version? Or do you not care? And while we’re at it, fuck Lucy Dacus for that song Forever Half Mast. There was a time when I felt rather comforted by it—or did I? I think there was always a sort of sneaking feeling in me that it was a flawed song. What was the point of writing it? "Yes, you’re evil, but you’re not that bad, you put out your palm more than the back of your hand"... disassociating each of us from the colonial actions (back of your hand) that are required for us to sustain the lives that we do.
