Maybe the whole anti-love, anti-relationship thing is stupid of me. I know that love is one of those things that creeps in whether you want it to or not, so I’ll remain open to it, I guess. And part of that openness is remembering that you can give love to more people than society will have you believe. "His law is love, and his gospel is peace." God himself wants us to be in love with each other, with everyone! He wants us all to be fucking other men. He says it right there in the song O Holy Night.
gay sex The thing that freaks me out about O Holy Night is the line “chains shall he break, for the slave is our brother.” At first I found it very moving, but then I considered the implication that the “our” in question is white people. Christianity seems to be targeted toward white people, and the slaves are just brothers. The song isn’t directed at slaves. If I were a slave listening to that song I’d just be like… well… am I not supposed to be listening to this? It’s sort of fucked up. But that’s what Christianity is: fucked up! exactly!
